ADIGASA Foundation Brings Hope to John After Successful Hernia Surgery

On December 15th, 2025, a long and painful chapter in the life of John — a young man from the Northern Region of Ghana — finally came to an end. After nearly six years of living with a debilitating hernia, enduring constant discomfort while working as a kebab seller on the streets of Accra, John emerged from surgery with renewed hope for the future. The procedure, fully supported by the ADIGASA Foundation, took place at the Achimota School Hospital and was declared a complete success by the medical team.

The morning after the surgery, the hospital ward was filled with a warm sense of relief, gratitude, and optimism. Present to visit and check on John’s recovery were Mr. Carl Asagida, Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ADIGASA Foundation, and Mr. Marcus Ntim Bempah, CEO of Van De Marc Ltd and Marcros Ghana Ltd, and a distinguished Patron of the Foundation. Their presence not only reassured John but also highlighted the Foundation’s deep commitment to walking with beneficiaries through every step of their journey — from identification to treatment and recovery.

John, though slightly tired from the procedure, was visibly overwhelmed with gratitude. The once constant pain that had shaped his daily existence was gone. He shared how the fear of the hernia worsening had haunted him for years, especially as he worked tirelessly to support his five siblings. Yet, on this day, he smiled — a gesture reflecting both relief and renewed strength.

Mr. Asagida expressed heartfelt satisfaction with John’s progress, acknowledging the resilience he had shown throughout the entire process. He emphasized that ADIGASA Foundation established its mission precisely for individuals like John — people whose potential and dignity deserve protection and support.

Standing beside him, Mr. Marcus Ntim Bempah commended John’s courage and reaffirmed his commitment as a Patron to support similar life-changing interventions. He praised the Foundation’s efforts in ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive timely medical and social assistance, describing the initiative as a powerful example of compassion in action.

The doctors at Achimota School Hospital also expressed optimism about John’s recovery. With rest, medication, and follow-up care, they expect him to regain full physical strength and return to his normal life — but this time without pain or limitations.

As the visit concluded, John expressed heartfelt appreciation to the ADIGASA Foundation, the medical team, and the Patrons who stood by him. His story is now one of transformation — from silent suffering to renewed hope.

And as the Foundation reflects on this milestone, it also remembers the beginning of John’s journey with ADIGASA: the initial screening in November 2025, where Mr. Asagida stood beside him alongside the doctors. That screening confirmed the severity of his condition and set the stage for the intervention that ultimately changed his life.

Today, John’s recovery is not just a medical success — it is a testament to what compassionate action, timely support, and committed leadership can accomplish.

ADIGASA Foundation remains dedicated to restoring dignity and strengthening communities, one life at a time.

ADIGASA Foundation Supports Hernia Surgery for John: A Story of Hope, Healing, and New Beginnings

John, a determined young man from the Northern Region of Ghana, has carried a silent burden for nearly six years—one that brought pain, fear, and uncertainty into his everyday life. At a young age, he developed a hernia that gradually worsened over the years, limiting his physical abilities and threatening his livelihood. Yet, despite his struggle, John refused to give up. He moved to Accra, Ghana’s bustling capital, in search of opportunities to support his five siblings who depend on him. To survive, he became a kebab seller on the streets—working long hours despite the pain, driven by the hope of building a better life for his family.

In November 2025, fate brought John into contact with the ADIGASA Foundation, whose mission is to uplift vulnerable individuals and transform lives through compassionate social interventions. During one of its community outreach engagements in Accra, the Foundation identified John’s condition and recognized the urgency for medical intervention. His story touched the hearts of the team, who immediately committed to supporting him through the process of receiving the surgical care he desperately needed.

John was taken to the Achimota School Hospital for a comprehensive medical screening, where doctors evaluated the severity and progression of his hernia. The screening was not only a medical necessity but also an emotional moment for John, who had endured years of struggle without hope for treatment. Standing beside him throughout the process was Mr. Carl Asagida, Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ADIGASA Foundation. His reassurance, empathy, and encouragement helped restore confidence in John at a time he needed it most.

The doctors, after reviewing his condition, confirmed that John required timely surgical intervention. With the support of ADIGASA Foundation, he was officially scheduled for surgery on December 15th, 2025. In the days leading up to the procedure, John expressed overwhelming gratitude, describing the Foundation as an answered prayer after years of suffering in silence.

On the day of the surgery, with the medical team ready and the Foundation standing firmly behind him, John was prepared for the operation that would change the course of his life. The team at Achimota School Hospital, known for their professionalism and dedication, worked closely with ADIGASA Foundation to ensure he received quality care, comfort, and support.

As John was being taken into the operating room, Mr. Asagida and the doctors offered him warm encouragement, assuring him of a safe and successful procedure. Their presence brought him a sense of peace—reminding him that he was no longer alone in this journey.

John’s surgery marks more than a medical milestone; it symbolizes hope restored, dignity reclaimed, and a chance at a healthier future. It also highlights the ADIGASA Foundation’s commitment to transforming lives, particularly among vulnerable individuals whose voices often go unheard.

For John, the path ahead is now brighter. With healing, he can return to work without pain, support his siblings with renewed strength, and pursue opportunities his condition once denied him. His story stands as a testament to the power of compassion and the impact that organizations like ADIGASA Foundation continue to make in communities across Ghana.
